Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi! ? We are a friendly family of four—me (mum, 32), my husband (33), our almost 3-year-old daughter, and our sweet dog. We’ve lived and worked abroad (Australia, Canada, and the US) and love cultural exchange.

Our home is in a small town at the foot of the mountains, surrounded by nature, just 40 minutes from Udine, 1 hour from Austria, and 2 hours from Venice. We live in a condo, and you will have your own little room and a shared bathroom. If you enjoy outdoor adventures, fresh air, and a peaceful setting, you’ll love it here!

Where we live, people can seem a little shy at first, but once we open up, we are warm. I know how important it is to feel comfortable in a new environment, and I will do everything I can to make sure you feel at home. This is our first time hosting, but I’ve personally experienced being hosted by families in the past, so I understand what it’s like to be in your shoes.

Since my husband is often abroad for work, most of the time it’s just me and my daughter. I am raising her bilingual (Italian-English), and I would love for her to interact daily with a native English speaker. That’s where you come in!

- Must be okay with dogs (ours is very friendly!)

About the Role:
- I won’t be working during the summer, so I will always be at home. Your main role is to interact with my daughter, playing with her and helping her develop her English skills in a fun and natural way.
- You will never be fully responsible for my daughter. If she’s comfortable with you, I may occasionally step out for a short time, but you’re not expected to "babysit" her alone.
