Scammers/Safety

If you do not find the answer you were looking for, you can call or send us a message.

How do I know the user is not a scammer?

Although members of our Service are checked daily, we are only an online matching agency and therefore we are unable to interview all of them. To every online agency comply the same rules as to the whole Internet community - to be sure you are in touch with a real person you need to speak with him/her and ask about all the details, preferably with the use of video-call.

From our side we can assure you that we check our database daily, looking for all the people who can in any case be unreliable. We can also provide you with the bunch of tips how to spot a scammer. If:
  • The user makes his email address or phone number visible to let you contact him directly. Once you contact him, he will delete the profile on AuPair.com - this way we can't find him and warn other users.
  • The user offers very high pocket money. Be careful! No one pays more than one has to.
  • The user refers you to any travel agent or any third person willing to help you. Please never contact any so-called agency offering to help with the visa and the whole paperwork. It's most likely a fraud attempt.
  • The user requires any money from you. Do never send any money abroad to any user in advance!
  • The user rejects to arrange a Skype video-call
