My name is Mia, and I am a doctoral student from Fudan University in China. I will be conducting academic research at University College London (UCL) from May 2025 to 2026, and I am writing to express my sincere interest in joining your household as an Au Pair & Home Share companion during this period.

My motivation for becoming an au pair and sharing a home with either elderly person or family with kids is rooted in a genuine appreciation for intercultural connection and mutual care. I believe there is much to learn from the life experience and wisdom of older generations, and I find deep value in offering companionship, assistance, and a warm, respectful presence in return. This arrangement also offers a meaningful way to integrate into British life and culture beyond the academic setting.

While I will be engaged in academic responsibilities, I do have flexibility to work remote and am committed to contributing consistently to the household. I am happy to help with light housework, daily tasks, grocery shopping, sharing meals, or simply offering kind company. I understand that my salary expectations may be lower than those of a full-time au pair, as my primary goal is to exchange support and care for a welcoming and stable place to live.

I am fluent in English and have previous experience living in shared environments.
