Letter to the family
Hello families!!
We are Gloria (26 y/o) and Fabrizio (30 y/o), an Italian couple who met by pure chance while living in Barcelona. This city has given us so much (including each other), but now, after three years, we feel it’s time to escape the big city hustle, slow down a bit, and dive into new cultures — their languages, lifestyles, and… their little humans (aka kids, the best teachers in life!).
We’ve always loved being abroad. Gloria even lived with a German host family for 10 months when she was 16 (and survived both high school AND German grammar!). Later, our Erasmus adventures (Spain, Poland, London) taught us to share houses with people from all over the world, so adapting to new places and cultures is basically our superpower.
We’re calm people who also like to stay active. You’ll find us outside playing sports, or inside enjoying simple slow moments like reading a book with a coffee. We've also both gone to therapy — it helped us become more mindful, emotionally aware, and respectful of other people’s spaces. We really value balance: being social when it’s time to connect, but also knowing when to give people (and ourselves) some breathing room.
We love learning from people and strongly believe that kids, with their honesty and curiosity, have more wisdom than most adults. Plus, we both have siblings and nephews, so we’re trained in the fine art of Lego-building, bedtime stories, and pretending to lose at board games.
LANGUAGES WE SPEAK:
Italian, English, Spanish (C1 level — so yes, we can joke in three languages)
German, French (B1 — enough to order food and not starve).
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT US:
Gloria: professional dancer and shower singer with Grammy-level enthusiasm.
Fabrizio: basketball lover, swimmer, and rollerskater. Basically, if it has wheels or a ball, he’s in.
Both: responsible and autonomous (we've lived on our own for years and are very practical), but also fun-loving and curious.
Driving skills: we both can drive, and we’ll probably bring our car, so your kids can get chauffeured around like little VIPs, as long as they buckle up ;)
OTHER THINGS WE ENJOY AND BRING TO THE TABLE:
Empathy, good communication, mindfulness (don’t worry, we don’t meditate 24/7… but we do try).
Kitchen experiments —We love experimenting in the kitchen — spices, fresh herbs, and new recipes are our playground. We’re not vegetarian, but we’re definitely vegan-friendly and we really enjoy eating healthy, with lots of fresh fruits and veggies on our plates. (That doesn’t mean we say no to pizza though… we’re still Italians).
Arts & hobbies — Gloria paints, Fabrizio draws, and we both like trying new things (except skydiving… still negotiating that one).
We also love playing board games — from classics to new ones — and we’re always ready to let kids “win”… at least sometimes
Homework help: Gloria has teaching experience and both of us love languages, so studying can actually be fun (yes, it’s possible!).
We’d love to share our energy, curiosity, and a few laughs with your family — and we promise to bring good vibes, Italian cooking, and maybe some questionable singing.
