From a young age, growing up in a large family in Soweto, South Africa, I've been immersed in a culture that places a high value on family and community care. This upbringing has deeply ingrained in me the joy and responsibility of looking after children. I was often the go-to babysitter in my family, a role I embraced with enthusiasm and love. This is where my passion for childcare first blossomed. Beyond my family, I extend my commitment to children by volunteering at local daycares, where I contribute to nurturing and educational environments for young ones. Over the past year, I have dedicated close to 600 hours to this volunteer work. These experiences have not only honed my skills in childcare but have also deepened my appreciation for the vital role of cultural values in shaping early childhood development.
