Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We're a happy family of four living in a town called Waddinxveen near a big city called Gouda and within 20 minutes you're in The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht. There's also a direct train connection to Amsterdam, you're there within 40 minutes. We're searching for an au pair starting in August 2024. Our son Tobias is six years old and our daughter Elsa is two years old. We have a busy household and we're both working a regular schedule, so your off days will always be friday, saturday and sunday. These long weekends gives you a lot of opportunities to explore The Netherlands and the rest of Europe. Our previous au pair made for example weekend journeys to Paris, Brussels, Antwerp, Düsseldorf, Stockholm and several places in Italy.
We like to do things with our family on our weekends and especially in the summer we go out a lot and you, as a part of our family, are welcome to join us. We prefer someone who wants to become a part of the family, explore the Netherlands and Europe and speaks good English. The hostparents can speak English and German so communication won't be a problem.
Next to a great experience in our family, in The Netherlands and Europe you also get weekly pocket money, a phone card with unlimited calls to Dutch numbers and internet throughout Europe (EU), access to a Netflix, Disney and Prime account and a traincard for unlimited train transportation during the weekends. If needed we have a spare telephone and laptop for you.
If you have any questions please contact us!

After lunch you have to bring Tobias back to school. Around 3.00 PM you leave to pickup Tobias from school and after that it's playtime for both the children till the end of your working day.
Structure in the day of the children and eating all together as a family is important for their development but also for us so we value that. A day can look like this:

We have a cleaning lady once a week for the big cleaning but we do need some little help with vacuuming living room (because of the cats), folding the laundry, clean up after dinner etc.
Your pocket money will be paid weekly on your Dutch bank account. Next to your pocket money you also get a phone card with unlimited calls to Dutch numbers and internet throughout Europe (EU) (40 GB), access to a Netflix, Disney and Prime account and a traincard for unlimited train transportation during the weekends. Accommodation

We live in a large family house. Our living room and dining room are separate so there is a lot of playground in the living room. With good weather we go in our garden with a nice seating space and on the opposite of our house there is a island with playgrounds and a sports field.
We created a room for the au pair on the second floor where you have your own space to sleep, watch TV, couch, big closet, a desk, your own washing sink etc. Last year we expanded the au pair room so it's bigger than on the picture.
In our house you have WiFi and we provide you with a phonecard with internet access throughout The Netherlands and the rest of Europe.
