Au Pair in the Netherlands

Through aupair.com we found this great candidate (the ninth already) and upon arriving we had a immediate click between the kids and the au-pair. She planned to stay for a year but unfortunately due to family circumstances she will have to leave earlier. During her 3 months she was taking very good care of our two kids and they saw her as a great sister/friend.

I wanted to work as an Au-Pair in order to learn German, and I decided to do that in Hamburg, my dream city. Isabel and her family were very helpful right from the beginning. She, specifically, provided all the necessary documents on time and I went through the Visa process without a problem. I also got the chance to meet them personally and see my room beforehand, because I was one bus ride away from Hamburg then. Their hospitality were beyond. As an immigrant, I've felt welcomed from the first day. Over time, I've built strong bonds with the children, and all the family. My needs -both emotional and material- were answered and I've learned so many things in this time of Au-Pair experience. I've spent 1 year with this amazing family and I've seen that there are still people left, who try so hard to appreciate and provide for the existence of different cultures. Beyond that, it's brave for the both sides, to be a part of this cultural experience and going through hard and happy times.

I found the website relatively good with the most important details included in the profile. Using search / filters functionality, I was quickly able to narrow down the search to ~50 candidates. Then based on profiles I contacted ~30, got positive replies and scheduled calls with ~12. Anna was our winner based on her experience, level of English and a cultural / personality match. She was eager to start the process ASAP, so we are now prepping all of the documents for her visa application and can't wait to have her here!
