Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Our family is a mix of Swiss and American. My husband's family is from Switzerland but he was raised in the US. I was born and raised in the US. Our family of 5 lived for the last 2 years in Switzerland (near Olten). We love to play and sing and dance. We are hopeful to find someone who can help our children maintain their Swiss German language while helping us manage our busy schedules.

We live in a small town about 20 minutes from Charlotte's uptown and 20 mins from South Carolina. There are a few language schools in the area. Charlotte’s Language Academy is one of the best in the area and offers in person or online classes as well as private tutoring. There are not a lot of public transportation options in the local area. Most people use Uber or Lyft to coordinate transportation.

Job Description

We are looking for someone to live in our home that can help get the kids to and from school, watch them for a couple of hours in the afternoons or help with them when we're working and they're home for days the school isn't. Additionally, this person will help to keep the kids in practice of their German language while giving them more opportunities to socialize with kids in the neighborhood. There may be times when Richie and I decide to take dinner out alone and this person would be responsible to watch the kids while we're out. Fridays and Sundays would be off time and possibly other times as well.
