I had an incredible experience staying in the small, rural town of Albelda. I immediately felt welcomed at the airport (all prior worries vanished) and integrating into their family was a smooth and thoroughly enjoyable process. The parents were extremely accommodating and generous, and the children were sweet and well-behaved on the whole. I immediately felt like a part of their family; being introduced to the town and treated like one of their own, taken on exciting day trips and visiting beautiful cities. Luckily, I stayed during the eventful month of August, during which there was a week of fiestas, celebrations, incredible food and new (some very odd) experiences. My daily routine was always exciting. It consisted of taking the children to their morning swimming lessons (where I would often swim also), almuerzo con la yaya, afternoon English activities and games, siesta time, back out to the pool, shop or city in the afternoon and a late, delicious dinner. Whilst I was only there for a month, I can easily say it was one of the best of my life. I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet such incredible people, be welcomed into a thriving town and loving community, adapt to a culture, share my knowledge of English and simultaneously, improve my Spanish skills. I now have a different perspective on life and life-long friends in the beautiful town of Albelda, which will always have a special place in my heart <3

We have had 10 au pairs so far, all found through aupair.com. We have generally gotten along very well. We have maintained contact with some of the au pairs and continue to see and hear from them regularly. The au pair experience is a great opportunity for our daughters to learn languages and enrich the family with a different culture. Saga has also been an excellent au pair. We got along very well and are still in touch.
