Evina (23 / Ms. ), American, Child Care Worker living in USA looking for Au Pair & Online Tutor job in Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway & United Kingdom for 1-12 Months

Hello! My name is Evina. I am a recent honors graduate from the University of North Carolina at Asheville where I received two Bachelors degrees; one in Psychology and the other in Religious Studies.
My career goal is to work in pediatric mental health as a certified therapist focusing in more hands-on approaches such as play therapy, art therapy, and body-centered therapy. During my time in University I spent about 90-100 hours at an internship working with children ranging from age 5-11. Here I helped the children in the program understand emotional regulation, empathy, peaceful conflict resolution, as well as the importance of maintaining healthy lifestyle choices regarding their eating, physical activities, emotions, and education. In this program I utilized meditation techniques, artistic approaches, and positive reinforcement to guide the children towards a more productive way of moving about the world.

When looking for ways to further my career I was introduced to becoming an Au Pair. I working with children and feel that this is a unique opportunity where my skills of understanding children's mental health may aid me in being a successful Au Pair. I understand leaving one’s child in the care of another person can be nerve racking and I feel my experience could not only soothe some nerves but potentially help the child as well as I can teach them similar strategies for dealing with big emotions that could help them later in life. I believe I have a unique skill set and experience that someone does not get from simply working in child care, but from studying various topics regarding developmental and neurological changes in children, exceptionalities in children, special needs in children, and multiple avenues for correcting behavior that stem from positive reinforcement and gentle/positive psychology.
