Letter to the family

Hello! My name is Marc and I'm a 22 years old male from Barcelona (Spain). I'm currently studying a university degree in Translation and Interpreting at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona). Languages have been a very important component in my life since I was a kid and as I grew up I started to develop an interest in everything related to the language-learning process. As a matter of fact, I'd like to become a language teacher in the future. For now, I'm interested in becoming an Au-Pair & Live-in Tutor because I'm about to finish my univeristy degree and, before starting my journey as a language teacher, I'd like to gain experience and I believe being an Au Pair is a wonderful to do it, since I'll be able to help a family and spend time taking care of children at the same time I enjoy the experience of living abroad. Besides, I love travelling and meeting new people from different countries than mine. I also spent a year living abroad in the city of Ghent (Belgium) as part of my Erasmus study programme and it was an incredible experience.

Experience

Although I have no prior experience as an Au Pair or Live-in Tutor, I am accustomed to caring for children as I come from a large family and have often looked after my younger cousins. I honestly believe I have a natural rapport with children and strive to provide them with enjoyable and educational experiences. For instance, when I cared for my cousins, I made an effort to keep them engaged through interactive activities like playing chess, where I adapted the game to their level to ensure they learned while staying entertained. We also watched English-language shows together, and I would explain the storylines so they could follow along and learn simultaneously. I understand the importance of being a supportive presence in children's lives. Having someone with them during tasks like studying can make a significant difference; it fosters a positive learning experience and prevents feelings of isolation. I aim to be that supportive figure who accompanies them on their journey.
