Dear host family,

My name is Silvia, but my friends and family call me Sly. I am a 22 years old girl and I live in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, a beautiful country in East Africa.
I am an open-minded, hard-working, easy-going, dedicated, trustworthy, helpful, patient, and responsible person. I love taking care of kids and their health, safety, and happiness are the most important to me.

I am currently living with my mum, Esther, who works as a Customer representative at a local hospital and my 11-year-old brother Ryan who means a lot to me and I have looked after him for a long time. I have not only been his older sister but also his good friend. That is the reason why I have always had a great relationship with children. I am not only a responsible educator, but also their friend. My dad Peter, lives in a different town two hours away but I see him regularly.
I graduated with a certificate in Early Childhood Care Education and I am currently working as a teacher in a school here in Nairobi for 2 years now. This has given me experience in dealing with different children from all walks of life. My strong communication skills, patience, and empathy make me an ideal candidate for this position, as I can effortlessly connect with both children and parents to provide the best care possible. Additionally, my adaptability ensures that I can quickly adjust to different childcare situations, including adapting to individual family routines and preferences. My future plan is to do a degree in Special Needs Education.
I am certified in First Aid, which I believe adds an extra layer of assurance for families when entrusting the care of their children to me. Moreover, I am fluent in English allowing me to support the diverse linguistic needs of the families I work with.
My hobbies includes playing badminton, biking and drawing. I love going to the beach and taking walks at the parks (nature lover). I am trustworthy, organized, respectful, open-minded, responsible, kind, sweet and jolly person. I also love playing with kids because kids have special place in my heart.
