Letter to the family

1. Hello! My name is Yahkira but you can call me Kira!:) I am 21 years old and a US Citizen.
2. I’m hoping to become an Au Pair & Nanny because it’s been my dream since I was a little girl to live abroad, immerse myself in culture and learn new languages as I go. I don’t come from a family with lots of money but I’m also a young adult who pays her way in the world. I currently work with children and have been for essentially the duration of my adulthood 3-4 years. I believe this will make me an amazing candidate to become an Au Pair due to my current role essentially being the same thing just in the states.
3. I hope that the host decides to choose me because I’m a team player, I love a clean home, cooking and don’t mind helping out a little extra. Outside of my work experience I come from a big family so family is very important to me as well.
4. I qualify for the position due to my current career working with children of many ages, my aspirations to help children in need as well as experience with Nanny/Babysitter duties. Also I’m looking to go back to college child and human services, I have some knowledge already that may be helpful to the position.

Experience

My current career is working with children who have an Autism diagnosis. This allows me to work on functional life skills and developmental goals due to some of my client maybe falling behind on age appropriate skills. I currently work in my client home, work on using manners without throwing tantrums, practicing eating and not throwing food many more things but also academic skills whether it’s identifying colors, animals, writing or simply teaching new skills that are age appropriate and school age. So although my official title is nanny I often do just as a nanny would do. Outside of my current job I also babysit so that includes preparing meals, giving baths, creating, engaging and playing fun activities. I would like to become a Au Pair and Nanny abroad because I love what I do for a living but I want to see the world even if it’s 1 country for a few months, this opportunity would offer housing and finances which are my biggest concerns outside of safety of course.
