Letter to the family

Dear host family

It's a pleasure to write to you.

I study at college and I'm doing the second semester of the Visual Arts course. This course of mine is about painting with paints, pencils, pens, also about sculptures, photographs, everything aimed at arts in general. I currently live in São Bernardo do Campo, where I work and study.
Since the beginning of this year, I haven't lived with my parents, because the college I chose didn't have one in the city where I lived, I had to move to be closer to the college and my work, as the company where I currently work changed to the city where I'm living. I've been working with my father for over a year. My relationship with my family is great, they support me in my decisions and help me when necessary. I have two sisters and a nephew, I am the middle sister. My older sister is 24 years old and gave me a nephew 2 years ago and my younger sister is 11 years old. My mother always asked me to help take care of my younger sister. And I always changed her diapers, bathed her and played with her. She made frames and puppets with paper, origami to entertain. We watched and we played theater. We did this until I started my studies and moved to another city. And with my nephew, I helped my sister take care of him when she needed it. My father is 54 years old, his profession is a CNC Programmer and he has a machining and tooling company, my mother is 46 years old and has an online cake, sweet and savory store. My mother also graduated in gastronomy, she is a gastrologist.
I miss taking care of my nephew and taking care of my sister. He took great pleasure in taking care of them.
I don't have a license yet, as I had to choose between going to college and driving. I chose to study because I can get my license later.
I'm a creative, friendly person, I like being able to help, I miss being with my younger sister, because we played a lot, even though I'm older than her. I showed her the cartoons I liked to watch and taught her how to play with the toys I got when I was younger.
In my free time, I like visiting friends, family, going for walks, shopping, but I also really like drawing and making origami, clay sculptures. I miss doing judo, because I stopped doing it the year my grandmother passed away. Then the pandemic came and changed everything.
I talked to my family about living abroad so I could work and continue studying, and they thought it was great, as it's a unique opportunity to get to know new cultures, people, learn new languages and have an experience that many wouldn't have the courage to have. But they are proud of me, because they say they are happy that I seek my happiness and independence.
I want to be an Au Pair for several reasons, but the first is to be able to go to another country to work and study. And in this job I can do what I love most, take care of children. Even though I'm an adult, I like to draw pictures and teach them how to draw and fold paper. I like to pass on my knowledge to children, see the sparkle in their eyes, and learn something new. This glow is unique because it is very rewarding to see the joy in the eyes of a child who has learned something new and runs to show their parents.
