Letter to the family

Greetings from Taiwan,

My name is Cheng Ye, my friends also call me Yael! I'm in my second year of university majoring design.

I come from Tainan, where I grew up with my loving family - an engineer dad, a librarian mom, my grandpa, and my younger sister who is majoring in anthropology and also lives with me in Taipei. We enjoy watching Netflix together in our free time.

I will have a 15 days' architecture workcamp in Cambodia in Jun-July. And stay in Nepal for half month in the mid-Aug. Due to wifi issues, I apologize for any delayed replies.

Experience

There would be the first time for me to be an au pair. however, Being the oldest sister in a big family, I used to take care of my younger siblings during the reunion holiday when their parents were busy. Although they've grown up and moved to big cities, I still enjoy spending quality time with them whenever I get a chance.

in addition, I was part of an elementary school recorder band where I helped the teacher and conductor take care of the students and did some teaching before their practice.

I'd like to become an au pair because I love kids! And I'm excited to learn from the different cultures of the host family and share my own with others. I believe this would not only be an opportunity for personal growth but also a chance to forge meaningful connections with others : )

Recently, I've been researching memories and attempting to recall some childhood memories from when I was younger. I write them down and aim to incorporate them into my work. I've found that spending time with children helps me access these memories more easily.

I would like to learn the basic local language whatever it is. Hoping the host family could help me to do so.
