Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear future au pair,

We would love to welcome a reliable, responsible, gentle and efficient au pair into our family to help us look after the kids and help us around the house!
We have lived in several countries (across Europe and Asia) and are used to living and working with people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds.

We are looking for a kind au pair who will demonstrate affection and care towards our children but will also be able to set boundaries and be strict when needed.
We would like an au pair fully fluent in English - this is a must. And also someone with prior childcare experience, especially with young babies.

We have a busy schedule so we really need someone organized, flexible and who likes to keep a tidy home.
We could really use the extra help and are really looking forward to meeting you ☺️
We love our current au pair and hope we can find another great match for next year!

If you believe this could be a good fit then please do not hesitate to send us a message :)

Sending our best and warm wishes,
Philip & Stephanie

Job Description

This is subject to change - based on the children's needs in September. We also travel often so the au pair will need to be flexible as the schedule might change when one of us travels.
But please see below what the schedule of our current au pair looks like:
***Light chores*** (6 hours per week)
- Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays: laundry for the entire family (with our washing machine + dryer + fold the clothes and put them in our closet), ironing (a few shirts/dresses every week), changing the cats litter (we clean it daily ourselves but expect the au pair to change it twice a week), helping us unloading the dishwasher and taking out the trash/bin.
***Children*** (24 hours per week)
- Tuesdays and Wednesdays (full day - while we work): looking after the kids in our house. This includes: play time, nap time, lunch & snack, bath etc.
- Friday evening: babysitting the kids while they sleep and we go out for dinner.

We hope to find someone who will be proactive and help without being asked for.
A good cook would be a great plus (we would love for you to cook for us) but it is not a requirement!
Aside from the light chores mentioned, the au pair will not be required to clean because we have a cleaner who comes once a week to clean the whole house. The au pair will not have to do groceries for the family because we do it ourselves.

You will be treated with respect as a member of our family and like a big sister for our children. We will respect your privacy and time off and hope you do the same with us : )
The week is very busy for us so you will not be expected to have dinner with us in the evening but we would be happy to share some meals with you during the weekend.

Pocket money and benefits:
- Food, drinks and toiletries will be paid for.
- Weekly pocket money of 76€ (as per law).
- The au pair will work 30 hours per week, as per law.
- Most of the time, we will try to give Saturdays/Sundays off. Two weeks of holidays per year.
- We also offer: a transportation card (giving free transport on weekends and bank holidays), museum card, language lessons, a sim card for a mobile phone (but we do not supply the phone itself), free internet, free access to our bike.
