Work abroad in Meike's family for 10-12 Months starting from Jul 2024 as an Nanny to take care of 3 children of 0 - 1 year old & 1 - 5 years old in Amsterdam, Netherlands

Dear future Au pair,
We are Daniel (32), Meike (36) ,June (5) en Mya (3) and Ellis (8 months).
We are a lively sometimes chaotic but over all very 'gezellige' family! We love to plan things as a family trip, such as going to the beach, walking in the Twiske (a very nice big forest/park with small beaches 5 min by bike from our home), but we also very much appreciate a intimate quite evening at home.

June is 5 years old and goes to primary school. She is a very social girl, who is happiest when the entire family is together. She loves to go outside, ride her bicycle or he stays inside to do something creative such as draw or paint.
Mya is only 1,5 years younger and turns 4 in august. Mya and June are the best friends!! Mya is a very different girl though: likes al the stereotype "boy" things such as soccer, climbing in trees, climbing éverything in the house, and likes cars and dinosaurs.
We live in een green area in Amsterdam, a cross the water (Amsterdam Noord). This means it's an area with lots of kids , young families, green areas to play with them. Also it's the upcoming area in Amsterdam: every weekend an new cafe or store opens and there is lots to do in terms of cinema (EYE), culture and events.
Our house has a big garden, with a pond at the end; little ducks swim by or our neighbor in his kayak;
we have a garden house at the end of the garden which functions as an extra living room and office space, with nice views of the pond and nature. In this garden house we host the au pair who also has her own bathroom there.

Privacy of course as a young family is very important to us. This is why we love to have a garden house at the end of the garden. This is a place , you, but also we (when needed for work in privacy for example) can make use of when total privacy is needed.
This house is quit big (35m2) and it also functions as an extra living space and working office, but this is at the other side of the garden house. The au pairs room + bathroom is totally private.

Since the kids have traveled a lot in their first 2-5 years of their lives and we see such positive influence regarding getting to know other cultures and languages we would like to expand this part of their development by inviting an pair in our lives. In addition Daniels schedule differs every week and sometimes even abroad, which makes it very attractive to have an extra sets of hands! We therefore expect a lot of flexibility and independence from the au pair.
When working in our family the au pair definitely has a full time work schedule . With the three girls (and their social lives) of which one is baby still and us, Daniel and Meike both working full time the au pair really needs to be super hands on, proactive , flexible and up to a serious job !

You, the au pair would pick up June and Mya from school (sometimes I Meike do it myself) and you would sometimes make dinner or help cleaning the house . Sometimes you would only have Ellis (the baby) during the day. Sometimes I would like to go outside with the older girls and the au pair would be asked to stay home with the baby. We do have a cleaner , but some light work in the household such as small groceries or folding some laundry are certainly asked of the au pair .

Of course Amsterdam has a lot to offer!!! during weekends we try to be free both, to go on day trips or visit friends and this will be the excellent time for the au pair to plan her own time , visiting the city centre or of course other parts of our very lovely country. :) the beach of Bloemendaal are very nice and also only a 30 min ride by train away.
We are very much looking forward to this big adventure, and hope we can make the au pair feel at home right away!
