After spending some time abroad you might have become a more mature, responsible and open-minded person. Your vision of life, people and relationships might have become slightly different.
Easier said than done, but here are some tips to help you reintegrate back to your culture:
- Understand that your Au Pair experience is a temporary stay abroad.
- After coming back home try to keep in touch with both foreigners and local people. You will find many common points with foreigners living in your country as they are going through a similar process you went abroad.
- Join some social activities and interest clubs to keep yourself busy and meet new friends.
Don't worry if you miss your Au Pair life at the beginning. It is a common feeling among Au Pairs and people who have lived abroad for a longer time. Remember you can always keep in touch with your Host Family and friends by calling them on Skype. You can also visit them whenever you have the chance. Thanks to the Internet, it has become easier to stay in touch with people from all around the world.
